CTBRec alternative
CTBRec already records rooms automatically. The Stream Archive is for when you do not want to keep a PC or VPS running.
What CTBRec is good at
CTBRec watches webcam rooms and starts when the performer is online. Files land on the disk you pointed it at. If you already run a NAS or a small VPS and you like owning the bits, keep it. That is a real setup.
What people get tired of
Those are hosting problems. A cloud archive is the swap when you do not want that job.
- The host has to stay up. A laptop lid or a Windows update ends the week.
- Disk fills. You become the person who deletes last month by hand.
- Sites change TLS or cookies. You are on the hook to fix the client.
- Watching from another device means copying files or exposing the box.
What The Stream Archive does instead
You add Chaturbate, Stripchat, CamSoda, or MyFreeCams usernames in the browser. We capture on our recorder. Sessions show up in a private library you can play or download while subscribed. You do not run Docker or FFmpeg on your machine, and you do not leave a second monitor awake.
You pay for the plan (Lite $9 / 3 creators / 200 GB; Plus $35 / 30 / 3 TB). Checkout is crypto. The library is yours. It is not a public archive of other people’s shows.
When to stay on CTBRec
Stay if you need the files on hardware you control, you already keep that host healthy, or you record rooms we do not support yet. We do not cover every site CTBRec supports.
When to switch
Switch if you do not want to be on-call for a recorder. Add the rooms here and shut the PC down.
